Week 26 - 'Amanave, American Samoa

Amanave week 1...

wow this was definitely the fastest week of my entire mission holy Moses it feels like I was writing my last weekly 20 minutes ago.. so me and my beloved companion pretty much white washed this area cuz he had only been in this area for a short time and he didn't know a ton of the members. So what we did this week is just set up splits and we got showed every member house in the area.. We visited as many as we could and followed up on referrals that we got so it was just a busy busy week trying to familiarize ourselves with the area, get to know the members, and find people to teach. we definitely have a solid base now and we found some people that we think are pretty promising as well. like man seriously the week was a blink man.

But Elder Robertson is a beast man he is helping me so much when it comes to the social part of the work man he is awesome. He just is so good with talking to people and like all the kids love him. Its so fun now where before I would be really intimidated to talk to people on the streets and bus stops and things but now its a lot more natural its awesome! God knew I needed to be here with elder Robertson in this area.

Man I love being on the mission and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love how this gospel and the atonement allow us to change. that is the whole point.. to change! we are here on this earth for a very specific reason and that is to follow Jesus Christ, rely on his atonement, live his gospel and become better people until we eventually become perfect through the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ! God wants us to receive all that he has and he has provided a perfect plan to accomplish his purpose. We walked into a store today for p-day and the shop owner kinda calls us out and is like, "how long have you been on a mission? why do you guys do that?! walking up and down the roads all day,, plus you two are so young! you are wasting your time! why are you here in Samoa! Samoa doesn't need missionaries i mean look, there is a church on every corner! everyone goes to church! there is no point to what you are doing!" we answered him very simply although he was in no disposition to listen to us. we told him that we are here because we know what we are saying is true. we know that god has a plan for each one of his children. yes, there are churches on every corner.. but they don't have the full gospel of Jesus Christ. Yes, people here in Samoa are amazing god fearing people but many of them just don't know the full truth of where they came from, why they are here, and where they are going. That is why we are here. We want to bring the peace and happiness of the gospel to every one of God's children.

I love you guysssss
