Week 10 - American Samoa - New companion from New Zealand

Hey hows everyone doing back in palagi land?! bro alot has changed here since the last time i wrote! My companion elder lavaka got transferred back to upolu to finish his mission there and he got replaced by my new companion, Elder Visesio! He is this skux lookin dude from New Zealand and he is way chill. he finishes in like 4 weeks. I am still kicking in malaeimi and the work is good but there are some challenges. We had this one lady we were talking to and she was like golden man she was eating everything up and we taught her the first lesson. we came back the next day and told us that her faife au (her church leader from a different church) had come over to her house and told her that she couldn't let us back in her house. broooo likeee broo. that's what really kinda sucks about this mission. everyone believes in god here which is amazing but also there are a ton of people hard core in other churches. and the thing that is sad is that a whole community (family) can go to a certain church and its pretty much hopeless to teach any of them cuz they are all rooted firmly in their families church. so that was a fat disappointment. we're still out here trynna find people and it is hard. we have a lot of recent converts but finding people is hard right now.

so ya we were talking to some member yesterday who lives close to the mansion we live in and apparently she said our house is haunted... so ya that's exciting i guess.. haven't noticed anything except some moving shadows and the sound of piano playing and the sound babies crying.. so i think she was lying.

Other stuff:
-yes we have thanksgiving over here in american Samoa.. cant wait for tonight!!
-my comp doesn't know the area at all so i am leading a ton right now! its pretty sweet i am really getting the chance to practice my Samoan.

yaaaa so its good out here the work is sweet! got a few people that know that they need to change and they want to but they just haven't made the decision to.

the church is true and Joseph was a prophet and the Book of Mormon is true and Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and God is our Father and he has a plan for our happiness.

Tolofa Lava! O a mai outou? this week has been very interesting for sure! So as I said before Elder Lavaka got a tama'i lima straight to the mata and he was even tafetoto from his eye so we had to take him to the fale ma'i (hospital) last aso gafua(Monday). the foma'i told him that he had to stay inside and away from the sun for a week. so we took to our matua fa'aleagaga(spiritual parents) and he chilled there all week while I proselyted with zone leaders! what an honor let me tell you. I got to drive in the van every day and I pretty much got a tour of the whole island! It was sick. The best part though was that I got to learn so much from so many different missionaries! Because I was with the ZLs we visited like half the missionaries in our zone and I had the chance to proselyte with both ZLs-- Elder Johnson and Elder Tiatia. I learned something very important.. Week 42 - Fagamalo, Samoa

Salo le Moifua, There is little to update on besides the baptismal service for Lasi was exceptionally amazing. I had the great opportunity to give a spiritual thought as well as confirm him. What a guy he is. We also had a great stake conference where these two 70's came and gave some mean talks. President and sister ho ching came as well. Me and my companion have been working hard together to find new future bishops and relief society presidents and we found a few people but we will see if they are truly prepared. there is still a problem with getting pictures but I will try to get it figured out. Week 38 - Fagamalo, Samoa

Malo le soifua ma se palagi e mama, This week was pretty amazing. me and my companion have been working really hard here in fagamalo and we are definitely being blessed to find those who are ready. The water is being filled up right now for a baptism we are having later at 6 o'clock for our dear friend Sene. Not to be partial or anything but this guy has a special place in my heart for sure. He was just divinely prepared by god to receive the gospel at this time. He is getting baptized on a wednesday because he is getting surgery on his leg on friday and he can't get it wet after that so he really wanted to do it before surgery. He is a 57 year old guy who is like off the wall crazy and has the funniest sense of humor but having done lessons me and my comp have really gotten close to him over these past three weeks.
