Week 16 - American Samoa

Manuia le tausaga fou!

I hope everyone had a great new years celebration! this was the first year that I didn't stay up till twelve haha ya boi needs his sleep. I don't have a ton of words this week but its been amazing here in Samoa. Learning something new every single day. a little update in the work-- we contacted a nice 19 year old kid named 'Tauuma' and started to teach him over the past week. He is a very humble kid and he accepted the invitation to be baptized. It is such a joy being able to help him understand the restored gospel. Can't wait to see him progress and develop as we keep teaching him.

random things:
- we met a new Filipino family who are like beyond amazing. nicest people on earth. their son really like tennis so we might go play with him on a p-day.
- Elder Masuisui bought a 42 dollar Underarmour shirt because he thinks he looks swole in it
- We were given 100 dollars the other day at Carl's Jr buy food so that was nice

Because it is the new year I have a nice little scripture from Alma that I read recently that pertains to all of us and our New Years Resolutions/Goals:

"Nevertheless, because those miracles were worked by small means it did show unto them marvelous works. They were slothful, and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey."

Thank you Alma. I will leave it up to you guys to interpret that however you want.

A wise man once said, "don't let your dreams be dreams -- just do it"

It may be a meme but in it lies a profound truth.

If you don't sacrifice for what what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice.

I hope you guys guys are as inspired as I am just writing this. I love you all and best of luck with your new years goals. Just always remember where your blessings come from:

"Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever."
