Week 66 - Lefagaoali'i - Happy New Year!

Today was awesome. we went up this morning to saleaula to play some basketball with elder skabelund and elder misailegalu and i am humble to say that i defended my streak in 21 for three straight times. skabelund thinks he is gonna beat me next time but i am already planning my 4peat. it was cool too when we were sitting down taking a break we had this really nice drunk guy come on to the basketball court to wish us a happy new year and he kissed us all on the head. so we all got our new years kiss!! it has been a nice chill day, getting some really good rest.

This week has been awesome! it has been so fun to proselyte in our area because everyone has just become good friends! i love the samoan people man its just so fun to be with them and joke around with them and when we are so lucky to have a great gospel lesson with them. this week we are helping one of our friends named jaimie prepare for her baptism next week! she has done lessons before but her grandma stopped her from being baptized before, but now she has permission. she is awesome! we invite her to read a chapter from the book of mormon and she reads 3! we also had an amazing lesson with our friend named sa'e, whose brother is an rm. sa'e has spent a little more time outside of the country so he is definitely on a different mindset than most people. it has been refreshing to teach someone like him. his bible knowledge is strong but we had a great read from the intro to the book of mormon. he said he would read 1 nephi 10 and then pray, so we are excited to follow up. right now we are working on a couple less active families cuz they have a ton of kids unbaptized, and right now we are trying to put together some devotionals in both of our wards so that we can get everyone out and teach them all the gospel! we are psyched for the new year.

I am really picking up on my workouts and my studies in the morning! i am rereading through the samoan grammar book for missionaries called the "white dragon" and so many new things i am learning that i never noticed before! i also have a new notebook that i carry around that i try to really notice how natives say things and write it down, so i can then try and copy that. I am psyched for the come follow me book of mormon, and i am still trying to finish jesus the christ and my gospel doctrine book before i finish my mission. bottom line is i am just living it up not wasting any time! i love studying and i love proselyting!

anyway, hit me back friends!

my testimony to the whole world is that i know that god is our heavenly father and that through his son Jesus christ, we can overcome all things and receive all that our father in heaven has in store for us. I know that Jesus restored his church on this earth through his prophet and i know that because i know that the book of mormon is true! the gospel is the path to true happiness if we have the courage and faith to live it!
