Week 56 - Lefagaoali'i

This week was another great week! I definitely got a boost by getting back to my normal study routine.. I bought a gospel doctrines book a while back and i started studying it intensively for a while and then as soon as i got transferred i haven't had as much time to study(or rather my times to study aren't as sure). But i had a great study this week about the priesthood and where it all makes sense in like the bible and things like that.. i really like a quote by joseph fielding smith (i think) where he said something like he never got as much happiness and satisfaction than when he was reading the scriptures. I definitely feel that now, which is so crazy hahaha. i always laugh reading in the book of mormon and coming across all the scriptures dad used to quote to me, "oh be wise, what can i say more", and "this was no excuse for thee my son" and a bunch of other ones.. its really a blessing to be enjoying the scriptures as much as i am and i just keep praying that I will be able to hold on to that desire and that i will continually see that spiritual joys are far greater than what this world and its pleasures has to offer.

Well, Aifaalua... he is awesome. such a humble man. so once we did lesson one with him we went back and watched the restoration video with him and his whole family on the projector. it was powerful even though it got stuck on the same part twice so we had to skip over it.. but at the end of the video he said something that roughly translates to, "i don't think that there are any of us here who can doubt the message of this movie that has been shown tonight".. he knew, we knew that he felt the spirit but we just wanted to help him gain the courage to act so we gave him 2nd nephi 31 to read and then we went back earlier today actually, and he had read the whole thing and understood it perfectly.. we taught him lesson 3 and invited him to baptism and he didn't say no but he didn't say yes,, he believes but he just had a couple questions about why he needs to be baptized again... honestly he is ready and all it would take is to help him connect the dots a little bit but the problem is he is going to upolu on friday!! so that crushed me man I have been praying like crazy for this guy but now he is leaving to go stay with his family who needs him. so we will send the other missionaries to contact him and hopefully we can get back in contact with him.

Two miracles:

1) someone that me and my companion elder robertson contacted in may of this year and first put on baptismal date is finally getting baptized in tutuila!! crazy thing is, we found this awesome guy on the street at like 8:30 at night. hit me up for the full story of my boi manny!!

2) on the boat to upolu I had a chance to talk to two palagi tourists from australia and share with them the book of mormon in english that I just so happened to have packed in my bag. god provides a way "he will lead you to them, or them to you."

But things are going good. my comp is about to "die," so this makes it two new zealanders who i have killed off the mission haha. time flies.

my testimony is strong. I know the savior lives and he is guiding his church through his prophet russel m nelson. what a blessing it is we have to find peace and safety in such a crazy world.

I love you all,

Elder Love
