Week 46 - Fagamalo

Malo!

It has been a while since i have given a nice update for you all! My new companion is Elder Puletua and I am training him. He is my first son and I am trying to train him up to be the next AP I have no doubts.. He is from Upulo and he speaks little to no english so It's been a really fun time practicing my samoan! It has been three weeks since I have started training him and he is awesome man It really has been a blessing to be with him I am learning so much.

I am still in Fagamalo in Savaii which is the big island of samoa. I love it to death! I never want to leave this island and this area is going to be hard to leave too because there are just so many people here that I have gotten so close to. We are having great success with my new companion and we are extremely blessed to be part of the baptisms of our three friends in the coming two weeks. Mataio and Repeke are 10 and 12 and I have been visiting them for a loooong time but they finally got permission from their parents to start coming to church and they will be baptized this saturday. Their older brother moevao was baptized about a month ago and he is really strong and already passing the sacrament every week like a beast! Our other friends name is Iosefa and he is about 55 years old and he just recently moved in to a member's house in our area and we have been doing lessons with him now for a couple weeks and he will be baptized as well next week. We are working really hard to continue to build great relationships with our members so this work can really continue moving forward in this area. We have very high hopes for this coming month of august as well as september.

The mission just keeps on getting better and better. I can't express how happy I am out here. The more I study about the gospel and the more I see people's lives change because of it and the more capable I become as a missionary is just so amazing to see all the many blessings that God has prepared for his children out here in samoa as well as myself. Yesterday we had zone conference and it was the best zone conference of my mission. We learned and discussed about how to have a purpose in everything we do and how our love for God should be the driving force behind everything we do. It was such an amazing spiritual experience as i got to sit and listen to the president and his wife share as well as all the other missionaries who shared their thoughts. at the end we had a great testimony meeting and I took the chance to share my simple testimony about the restored gospel and how the book of mormon is the cornerstone of my testimony of the restored gospel of jesus christ. I Know the book of mormon is true. I know that Jesus Christ restored his church through his prophet joseph smith. Because I know that my life is filled with peace, joy, and a hope for a better life to come. What a blessing I have to share that with other people. whether people want to listen or not i know what i know.

There was a time a couple weeks back where we were having a lesson with an old man and he was really enjoying our lesson, but then as soon as i testified, "I know that this is the true church of jesus christ" he completely changed his mind. He told us to watch ourselves and that we were just little kids and because we were little we knew nothing. He compared his age to his knowledge and how he knew more than we ever could at our young age. I know that God is watching everything I do and I know that I will never be ashamed to testify know matter what others may say. I am just so grateful to be on this mission and I will use this next year to be the very best I can be for my heavenly father and his children.

Elder Love
